ITALIAN SAUSAGE GOULASH

INGREDIENTS
  • 1 pound Italian pork sausage
  • 1 onion, celery, bell pepper cup frozen chopped vegetable blend for seasoning
  • 1 cup sliced fresh button mushrooms
  • 1 can (28 oz each) Hunt's® Crushed Tomatoes with Basil
  • 2 cups water
  • 1-1/4 cups dry large elbow macaroni, uncooked
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic salt
  • Shredded Parmesan cheese, optional

DIRECTIONS

Heat large skillet over medium-high heat. Add sausage, frozen vegetable blend and mushrooms. Cook 5 minutes or until sausage is crumbled and vegetables are tender, stirring occasionally. Remove from skillet, drain and set aside.

Place tomatoes, water and macaroni in skillet; bring to a boil. Reduce heat to medium; cook uncovered 10 to 12 minutes or until macaroni is tender.

Add garlic salt and return meat mixture to skillet. Toss to combine. Sprinkle with cheese, if desired.
