
CREAMY RICE
with Peas & Mushrooms



INGREDIENTS
- 1 tablespoon butter
- 1 8 ounce package sliced mushrooms
- 1/2 cup chopped onion
- 1 tablespoon chopped garlic
- 1 1/2 cups 2% milk
- 1 cup long grain white rice
- 1 15 ounce can no salt added sweet peas drained
DIRECTIONS
In medium saucepan, melt butter over medium heat. Add mushrooms, onions and garlic; salt and pepper to taste. Sauté until onions are softened (about 3-5 minutes).
Stir in 1 cup milk, 1 cup water and rice; cover and simmer 20 minutes or until rice is tender.
Stir in peas and remaining ½ cup milk; continue cooking, uncovered, until creamy.
