FRIED RAVIOLI

with Creamy Three Cheese Sauce

INGREDIENTS
  • 3/4 cup lowfat buttermilk
  • 1 1/2 cups Italian style bread crumbs
  • 30 frozen cheese ravioli thawed
  • 1 cup three cheese pasta sauce
  • 1/4 cup half & half
  • - pure vegetable oil
  • 1/4 cup fancy shredded Italian style Parmesan cheese

DIRECTIONS

Place buttermilk in a shallow dish and bread crumbs in a second shallow dish. Working in batches, dip ravioli in buttermilk and coat with bread crumbs. Set on a baking sheet.

In small microwaveable bowl, combine pasta sauce and half & half; heat on HIGH 2 minutes, stirring occasionally. Keep warm.

Pour enough oil into a large skillet with high sides to reach a depth of 2 inches. Heat oil over medium-high heat until oil reaches 325°F on a deep fry thermometer. Add ravioli in batches to hot oil; fry, turning occasionally, until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes. Remove from oil with slotted spoon and drain on paper towels; sprinkle with Parmesan cheese.

Serve fried ravioli with warmed sauce for dipping.
