MAPLE APPLE SAUSAGE PATTIES

INGREDIENTS
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1 cup peeled and shredded Granny Smith apples
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 2 tablespoons 100% maple syrup
  • 1 16 ounce chub mild pork sausage thawed
  • 1 cup fancy shredded sharp Cheddar cheese

DIRECTIONS

In medium skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Add apples and cinnamon; sauté until softened (about 4-5 minutes). Stir in syrup; continue cooking 1 minute. Remove from heat; cool.

In large bowl, combine sausage, cheese and cooled apples; mix until well combined. Form into 8 patties.

Place patties in large skillet over medium heat; cook until browned and cooked through, turning occasionally (about 14-16 minutes).
