
FETTUCCINE ALFREDO



INGREDIENTS
- 1 tablespoon butter
- 2 tablespoons minced yellow onion
- 2 cups heavy whipping cream
- 1/4 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
- 1/4 teaspoon freshly ground nutmeg
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
- 1 12 ounce package fettuccine
DIRECTIONS
In large saucepan, melt butter over medium heat. Add onions and sauté until softened (about 3-5 minutes).
Stir in whipping cream, cheese, nutmeg, salt and pepper. Bring to a boil; reduce heat and simmer 25-30 minutes, stirring frequently.
Meanwhile, prepare pasta according to package directions; drain. Toss pasta with sauce; sprinkle with additional cheese and fresh cracked pepper, if desired.
